Soames Grinder

Soames Grinder

Get ready to grind your legs!

Team Wolverine AthleticsThe Soames Grinder will be an endurance event which means the winner is the one who runs the most loops up and down Soames Hill. Organized by Team Wolverine Athletics.

Soames GrinderSoames Hill is located in Gibsons, BC and the loop will be about 1.7km in total; starting at the parking lot at the end of Esperanza Rd. It will then take you to the east side of the hill and you go up about 400 steps to the top. Feel free to enjoy the views before heading down the west side, also known as the easy side with “only” about 300 steps. Head back to the parking lot and do it all over again and again and again. You have a total of 6 hours to get in as many loops as possible.

New in 2019: Relays
Does 6 hours seem like a lot?! Join up with your friends and family and make a 2 or 4 person relay team! Take turns doing the loops, do as many as you can before the next person takes over.

There will be an aid station in the parking lot with refreshment, beer and Tailwind.

As the event is close to Halloween, racers are encouraged to dress up and there will be a prize for the best costume.

See event website for full details.

Halfmoon Bay 5k Time Trial

What's New at PaceSetter

Challenge yourself! This is not a “virtual race” but a time trial, on a specific course. You only need a simple chrono watch – the course is accurate. Entry is FREE!

Run the 5k one or more times between December 5th and 13th, then submit your best time, to be entered into a random draw for a pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes!

Here is an interactive course map and written directions. We will try to keep the non permanent markings on the road for the entire time but if there is heavy rain you may have to bring the map with you for directions. Speedsters may want to do a pre-run warm up as this course has a few corners that could easily have you turned around.

After completing the course, submit your time to info@pacesetterathletic.ca. We will only use times emailed to that address, for the draw.

Both the shoe winner and results will be posted on this site.
